Minnie Dlamini-Jones has had one of the seemingly most beautiful pregnancy journeys that a an expecting mother can have, but it seems that that part of the journey has either come to an end or is about too.

It was not so long ago when Minnie announced her pregnancy and again broke the internet. Following years of being just being Mrs Jones, Minnie in September let it be known that soon enough people can start calling her Mama Jones. The significance of the baby was also that in came as the family was healing from the passing of Minnie’s younger brother, and the little one was just the miracle that the family needed to add some cheer.

I had so many ideas of how I wanted to reveal my pregnancy and as usual I was looking for something that hadn't be done before. In the attempt to pay respect to my culture, I did some research on how a Zulu pregnant woman looked like back in the day. Our culture is so rich with amazing clothing, patterns, colors and designs, all of which have symbolic meaning. For example the hat a woman wears symbolizes that she is a married woman. The clothes she wears symbolizes whether she is a girl, a woman, a wife, or a mother to be. The patterns on a maternity apron determine many things, among which is the sex of the baby 😉 In this image shot in my backyard, to represent where my child will be raised, I'm dressed in a bespoke Zulu pregnancy apron called "Ingcayi" hand made and beaded by @asandamadyibi Historically the hide would have been a gift from my father in law from a hunt. The beadwork and design would have been handmade & gifted to me by mother in law with messeges and symbols of the family liniage almost like the western family crest. I'm so proud to show off my culture in a time where so much creativity and evolution has made us look at the art instead of the rich cultural meanings behind the items we fashionably wear today. I am and always will be a proud Zulu woman. #HappyHeritageDay #Zulu #ShakasDay #Culture 🇿🇦

Since announcing her pregnancy, Minnie has had a whirlwind of a pregnancy, and this time we mean it in a good. The star has not only had just one baby shower, or two for that matter. But Minnie has had a total of three baby showers with the subsequent being even more glamourous and over the top than the previous one.

When Minnie first announced her pregnancy, there was speculation on how far along she was. In 2020, we have learnt that not only Kylie Jenner ca n hide a whole pregnancy from the media. But that South Africans too can do that. We experienced the shockwave from Simphiwe Ngema’s surprise personal life. Sis had a baby and a new man, which she only revealed months after having the baby. And Pearl Modiadie served her own version of baby secrecy and teased us as her fans after she had given birth.

But Minnie has been different. Following her announcement, she has used her social media as a baby scrap book. And as her followers we are just lucky to have access to some of those memories.  For instance, her luxurious baby moon with her husband was something for sore eyes. And Mr Jones continues to lead the charge of South African Instagram husbands that have an eye to make their partners shine.
But this past week Mrs Jones revealed that she has reached the nine month mark with her baby bump. On Twitter too, she cannot help but use every opportunity to burst with excitement over being an expectant mother. But her latest Instagram post was really suggestive, Minnie took to her Instagram and suggested that she is quarter-to baby, or Mama Jones is already in the house and she is just waiting to shake us all with the baby reveal image. Someone should check on Mrs Jones and report back to Zalebs.
