South African media personality, Minnie Dlamini-Jones, has done her best to stay out of the controversy on social media, especially now that she going to be a mother. Even when the drama was centred around her, Minnie has chosen to keep tight lipped, letting the storm pass and allowing for tweeps to find another victim.

In a Tweet shard on Thursday, 22 October 2020, Minnie showed her support for the injustices taking place in Nigeria, by tweeting, “My heart goes out to my Nigerian brothers and sisters.” Tweeps had then twisted around her comment, by referencing her previous tweets which did not supported the #PutSouthAfricaFirst movement. People began dragging her for supporting Nigeria purely passed on her past relationship with men from the country, some of which had no facts at all.
In a following Tweet shared on Friday, 23 October 2020, Minnie appeared to be quite perturbed by the unnecessary drama, which appeared to steer away the intention of her message. She stated, “Twitter: Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Live your life guys, live your truth and live in positivity in as much as you can. Being angry and bitter is so exhausting. Smile be happy peace love and happiness always.”
Her followers jumped at the chance to question her motives once again, although it appears as though Mrs Jones going to take her advice and continue to live her life in positivity.
Back in August 2020, Minnie was embroiled in a scandal which saw her referencing her hairstyle, which was Bantu knots, as “ghetto”. She posted a picture of herself rocking Bantu Knots, which is a historic South African Zulu hairstyle that has also been adapted by many black women in various parts of the world. Switching her weave for this proudly South African look, she looked gorgeous, might we add, however stepped on so many toes with her caption as she labelled the hairstyle with her caption.
"Just because it's ghetto, doesn't mean it's not fabulous Loving my #BantuKnots," she wrote.

Whilst Tweeps had a field day on social media, Minnie did not comment on the situation, and let the moment pass. After trending on Twitter for a maximum of two days, her followers were back to business and loving everything that she did.
