Sizwe Alakine, better known as Reason, recently went on Instagram to bare his grief and remember his good friend DJ Dimplez. The rapper wrote about their friendship, and how much Dimplez believed in him.
He opened up about having let his DJ friend down last year, but was in awe of how much love and grace the DJ extended to him nevertheless. And even as he faces the difficulty of losing his friend, he is grateful that he was at least able to show him love and appreciation in person, while he was still alive.
“You were one of the last real niggaz alive. And now … you’re gone,” he wrote.
“The only joy I have is knowing that I got a chance to express my love and appreciation to you in person. I had let you down last year and You loved, forgave and schooled me through it. Like an older brother would. And for that… I poured my heart out to you for being a f**ken dope a** human,” he continued.
He went on to thank God for DJ Dimplez, and said that even though it has only been a day since he passed, he misses him greatly already, and said goodbye to him.

Other celebrities have also given their tributes to the late entertainer. Cassper Nyovest also went on Twitter to share his account of how he knew DJ Dimplez.
“Dj Dimplez was an all round good guy. Very kind , positive guy who always gave advice to better others. Even if Dj Dimplez didn't agree with you, he would put it in a manner that wouldn't offend you. Gave me and others an opportunity to grow and show thier talent. RIP grootman,” he wrote.
Pictures have also been circulating of him and Riky Rick, who also passed on just a few days before Dimplez. The whole country is concerned about the rate at which celebrities, especially in the hip hop industry, are dying.
Even though we did not know him personally, from the kinds of words that those who knew him are writing about him, he seems like he was a genuinely stellar guy. Mzansi has lost yet another bright star. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
