You know that feeling when you just can’t get enough of something? That’s called addiction, right? Well, if that’s the case then we’re definitely addicted to The River.

We waited anxiously for this week’s instalment as we couldn’t wait to see whether Oupa survived after being shot by the police. But that’s not the only thing that kept us glued to our screens this week: check out our recap of The River to see what else got us talking.

Oupa is still alive

Remember how everybody freaked out after Oupa was shot by the police? Even his friend Cobra was a little shaken by this. While some were worried that the former jailbird had lost his life, others, including us, kept the hope alive.

Our prayers were answered this week as we heard that the wannabe businessman had survived and was in a “critical but stable” condition in hospital. Although we didn’t get to see him in his hospital bed, just knowing that he’s alive is enough for us. Oh, and he’s now a wanted man because of that hijacking incident. Will he go back to jail or will he manage to worm his way out of serving yet another sentence behind bars?

Cobra disappoints his family

Poor Malefu’s heart was broken after learning that his son, who was trying very hard to turn his life around, was still up to no good. At first, Cobra was good at convincing his family that he had nothing to do with the hijacking and that he would never go back to his criminal ways.

However, after overhearing his sisters talking about him, and how Itumeleng, specifically, had lost faith in him, the big brother couldn’t help but come out with the truth. He surprised them when he owned up and confessed to his family. Of course, all parents want the best for their children, but it seems no matter how much Malefu prays, Cobra will never really change.

The Dikanas are a happy family again

It’s all about love and happiness in the Dikana household. After almost getting a divorce, and an attempted murder, Lindiwe and Zweli are going stronger than ever. This week, we saw the couple going on a much-needed holiday together so that they can relax and reconnect.

They left the kids alone in the house and you know what they say about what happens when the cat’s away. We hope that the Dikana children, who decided to throw a massive party in their parents’ absence, will not get carried away.
