Pheeuw! With all the drama surrounding Our Perfect Wedding, we almost forgot that we also watched SA Idols yesterday as 5 acts received the axe.  The top 11 contestants who made it to the next round were honestly not surprising at all. Come to think of it we were personally rooting for Vincent Bones and Tumi Morobane to make to this level of the competition. And thanks to yours and our votes they sure did make it.

Deciding who made it through to the final spots in the lineup was up to the public except for two wild card choices, who would be picked by the judges. We honestly think Unathi, Randall and Gareth made a fair and wise decision here. By exercising their Wild Card option the judges were able to save two ladies; Durbanville singer Demi Lee (24) and 20-year old Roxy McVean.

“You will know that I am not frequently impressed, " Randall noted, announcing their choice, “but you should know that it was very, very difficult this year.

The Top 11’s long journey to the Idols Season10 finale’ will kick off with a two-hour live show next week Sunday (21 September) What’s even more exciting about next week show is that the contestants will be guided by musical extraordinaire and American singer-songwriter, Gordon Chambers. Chambers has written songs for the likes of Usher, Beyonce’, Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin.
It should be interesting to see how he’ll direct these raw talents and if he’ll take the final batch of singers to the next level.

As a complete aside, we were so glad to see that SA Idols has opened its gates to rappers such as K.O, who gave an astounding performance on last night show. CaraCara literally caused a lot of dust in with the SA Idol auditorium.

In case you missed it, here’s the list of the Top 11 contestants.

Vincent Verhoog, Ivan Roux, Bongi Silinda, London Louw, Vincent Bones,Kyle Deutschmann, Lize Mynhardt, Musa Mashiane, Tumi Morobane, Demi Lee, Roxy McVean
