Ever since The Wife premiered, viewers have been kept on the edge of their seats by its cliffhangers and plot twists.
Showmax dropped this week's episodes and they have been setting Twitter ablaze. While many are enjoying the romance between Naledi, played by Gaisang K Noge, and Qhawe, played by Kwenzo Ngcobo. But, others are concerned about Sambulo.
The violence between the Zulu Brothers and Majola Brothers has reached boiling point. In one of the episodes, Sambulo, played by Sipho Ndlovu, was shot by Gwaza Majola. A taxi that he was riding in burst into flames as it was attempting to flee.
It is unclear whether he is dead or not, but viewers say they cannot kill his character. If he is dead fans will be crushed and they will have to wait seven more days to find out about his future on the show.Sambulo is one of the Zulu brothers carrying the show on their backs and he forms an integral part of the production, and many cannot imagine the show without him.
The show has mastered the arts of keeping viewers anticipating what will happen next and the cliffhangers get the people talking on social media. Just recently, Abdul Khoza who plays Nqobizitha Zulu caused a buzz on social media after he faked his exits. In a post on Instagram thanked the cast and crew of the show for embracing him to the fullest.
"It's been an amazing journey with you all on #TheWifeShowmax. Thank you to the entire cast and crew for embracing me to the fullest. I shall miss you all and wish you a greater journey ahead. You have inspired my career with this amazing show, ngiyabonga mina uNqobizitha Zulu lo, sengihembe. Heee heee!!. '' he announced.
Fans were left heartbroken by his announcement, but he later assured his fans that he was not leaving. The Wife has been receiving heaps of praises from its viewers and it's good to its actors getting their flowers on social media. Some of them are also nominated for the DStv Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards (DMVCA).
Three actors have bagged nods across different and big categories. Kwenzokuhle Ngcobo, who portrays Qhawe in the show, is nominated for Favourite Rising Star while Abdul Khoza, who portrays Nqoba, and Zikhona Sodlaka, who plays Mandisa, are both nominated for the Best Male Actor and Best Female Actor awards.
