Namibian musician Top Cheri has found herself in hot water on social media and even faced the wrath of the law. In May 2020, TopCheri had a brush with the law after contravening covid curfew regulations. An indiscretion that cost her N$2000 about R2026.55 to secure her release.


However she has turned a new leaf and is now on the government's side. She recently joined the bandwagon of celebrities mobilizing the masses to get vaccinated. The Namibian Ministry of Health and Social Services has been conducting a vaccination drive all over the country in efforts to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Top Cheri took to her social media to rally her followers to get vaccinated and used the following the hashtags on her posts #GetVaccinated, #KickCovid19OutOfNamibia, and #VaxUpNamibia. We love a vaccinated queen! Other Namibian celebrities that have been part of the drive include Adora Kisting, Tate Buti and DJ Vuyo.


TopCheri, began her career in music as a Kwaito artist under the alias Monica Morocky. She climbed the ladder and the industry took notice of her talents, rewarding her by nominating her for 7 different categories in addition to the personal accolades she collected. In 2019, TopCheri won Album of the Year as well as Newcomer of the Year after her single Fertile topped the charts.



The 30-year-old has made some bold statements in her career with her music, her personality and the energy that she brings to the entertainment industry, she’s definitely one to keep your eyes on.
