Bujy admitted that he threw a glass of wine out of frustration at Boity in a statement he released yesterday.
Boity also confirmed that she was a victim of physical assault in a statement she issued shortly after the incident happened.
"It is with deep sadness to state that I was indeed an unfortunate victim of a vicious physical assault and I have since opened a case against the culprit., which I am following with a keen interest. I do not wish to comment on the matter any further (at this time)," read her statement.
Showing her support for Boity on Twitter, award-winning rapper Nadia Nakai called for justice for Boity. Here is what other celebrities had to say.
Meanwhile, Boity and Bujy have both revealed that they have opened cases against each other. Boity said she believes that justice will be served, "I have all the faith in our Criminal Justice System and implore everyone to stand firmly against GBV," she said in a now-deleted statement.
Bujy said he has also opened a case of common assault against the culprit for physically attacking him. "....and after being in pain from the injuries I sustained for 7 days, being held in police custody, I have received medical attention and have filled my medical records towards my counter case."
He also issued another statement apologizing for his behavior. "I would like to apologize to everyone for my reaction to the situation. I regret that it happened and also accept the occurrence as unacceptable behavior, and I could have handled the situation differently and not have it escalate to the levels it has from either myself or the said complainant and I do not condone any acts of violence by any person including myself."
Bujy added that he will not comment much going forward as the matter is now sub judice. "Therefore I would not want to jeopardize the working of the justice system by going into further details, compromising witnesses, and getting into the merits o the case as those will be ventilated in court. Even with the presence of overwhelming evidence. It is still allegations, and everyone has the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty," his statement read.
