The Cape Town Pride Parade took place in the Mother City over the weekend, continuing the organisation’s 12 years of the celebration of diversity.
The festival, which takes place every year and also aims to create awareness surrounding issues that impact the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex communities in South Africa and the rest of the continent, has turned into a major event on Cape Town’s tourist calendar, with a range of fun-filled happenings attracting people from all over the region to join in the celebration.
This year’s Pride started with a minute of silence for South Africans who have been killed in anti-gay hate crimes.
