Prior to her gig on MTV Africa, entertainment fans across South Africa were introduced to Kimberley Jayde Robinson via her blog which has seen her go from a blogger with a passion for lifestyle and entertainment to a formidable presenter on a continental platform.
The Johannesburg based blogger, model, presenter & MC was born and raised in Zimbabwe and later moved to South Africa in 2009 to attend the University of Stellenbosch where she graduated with an Honors Degree in Social Work in 2012.
Kim reportedly got her big break after MTV Base South Africa’s talent manager saw her on Instagram and offered her a job as a presenter on the channel. In less than a week, she had the job.
As quickly as her presenting career took off, Kim emphasizes the fact that it took a lot to get her to where she is. Speaking to online magazine, Magenta, Kim explained "I have been modelling full-time for four years, but it took a lot of time and effort to “get noticed” in Johannesburg particularly. With networking, I use social media as my biggest tool to connect with people, but you should never underestimate the power of face-to-face communication. I also try to put myself out there at every event I attend putting in the effort to make a good first impression."
And she definitely got noticed! Kim was announced as one of the four new faces in Revlon's latest campaign alongside Loot Love, Michelle Mosalakae and Bontle Modiselle.
You can catch Robinson on MTV (DStv Channel 130) during many of their entertaining inserts.
