It's been a hectic month for our beloved continent as the events currently taking place are heartbreaking. Television and radio personality, Masechaba Ndlovu took to her social media to specifically address what is happening in the Congo. As you might have noticed, there's been a #CongoIsBleeding hashtag making the rounds on social media. Our brothers and sisters are losing their lives over the country's resources.

"Here's what's happening in the DRC: Congo is currently going through a silent holocaust." Posted Masechaba. "Millions of people are being killed so the world can benefit from its natural resources. Congo has the world's largest reserve of Coltan. Coltan is a critical resource needed for electronic devices, aerospace and the innovation of technology."

The outspoken radio DJ didn't share graphics are the events but felt she had to say something."Babies are dying, women are being raped and buried alive, innocent people are losing their lives everyday. I chose not to post graphic images but I was compelled to say something."

She encouraged her followers to Google the hashtag so that they are aware of the brutal and inhumane acts taking place in DRC Congo.

South Africa is also facing a pandemic of its own - hundreds of women and children, if not thousands, are falling victim to human trafficking across the nation. There have been several cases reported in Rustenburg in the North West as well as in the Gauteng province. Local celebrities including Thando Thabethe, Lasizwe and Blue Mbombo having been calling for the government to intervene as our people are no longer safe.

In Nigeria, there is an #EndSARS movement also known as The End Special Anti-Robbery Squad (End SARS). It is a decentralized social movement against police brutality in Nigeria. It's been reported that thousands of innocent protest have been seriously injured and some have lost their lives. Local celebrities including Cassper, Nasty C and many others have taken to social media to social media to support the people in Nigeria.
