Ntsiki Mazwai recently made headlines after was dumped from what she had led many to believe was her podcast, Unpopular Opinion. But in what turned out to be untrue, Mazwai was dumped with an official statement by the production company behind the podcast, Electube, by writing in part that:

“This statement serve to inform our beloved viewers and followers that Unpopular opinion has taken a new creative direction as we have changed the format and structure of the podcast. We as Electribe Production and Miss Nontskikelelo "Ntsiki" Mazwai have parted ways due to a strained professional relationship and partnership."

Going to add that:

“We apologize for the delay in sharing the news. We will continue to work to gain your trust and respect as we continue to capture and elevate meaningful conversations. Unpopular Opinion was conceived and conceptualized by Electribe Production to be a platform for insightful, educational and in-depth (discussions) with different voices from all spheres of life. The basic tenet has not changed and the last two episodes are testament of that fact.”

At the time, Mazwai’s rebuttal was to suggest that the production company used her public image for views. Moreover, she had demanded that they take down the podcast episodes which included her as the host. But to date, the channel has not. Moreover, following the initial dip as some subscribers unsubscribed during the back and forth, the channel has returned to health numbers with over 17.1k subscribers on the channel.

Therefore, while Mazwai might be slighted, the continued success of the channel proves that maybe it did not need her. As such, Mazwai has finally stayed true to her own words by starting her own podcast.

Ntsiki Mazwai returns with new podcast

Mazwai recently revealed her return to the podcasting world with what we now believe will be her solely owned podcast Loud.

The podcast is set to premiere at AMPD Studios which are sponsored by NedBank in Newtown Junction on Sunday, 11 December 2022. Ironically, Mazwai who labelled Podcast and Chill fans "bimbos", seems to have been inspired by MacG as he was the first official effective ambassador for the studios.
But Mazwai, the Pan-Africanist and advocate for access to information, has seemingly looking to make early returns from her podcasting venture as she is charging the live audience set to join the premier episode actual money to be part of the event and the ticket is not cheap for a first-time experience.

More so when looking at her numbers on YouTube. Mazwai’s YouTube is less than desirable to say the least. This is as her channel currently has over 2.54K subscribers. This is a page that she started back in 2011, which also includes think-pieces by Mazwai which were seemingly shot with her phone. A fact which might explain the lack of numbers as the channel has only pushed over 84k views in over a decade of the channel.

Here is hoping that Mazwai’s channel will be worth the price tag attached to it. Or it will be disappointing for those that spent their hard cash to see the experimental premiere episode.
