Hip Hop DJ and much loved music producer DJ Dimplez passed away on March 6, after having suffered a sudden brain hemorrhage.
His family confirmed the sad news in a statement, “It is with deep sadness that the Mooi family announces the untimely passing of Boitumelo Athiel Mooi, popularly known as DJ Dimplez. He passed away on 6 March 2022, from a sudden brain hemorrhage,” the statement read. "We ask for your space and respect as we process Tumi's tragic passing. Thank you for your understanding," they concluded.
Hip Hop star who had an enormous contribution to Amapiano, tragically lost his life after a long battle with depression.
Riky hinted at taking his own life in a tweet, which said he will return to this land a stronger man.
He was found by his wife and management and apparently left suicide notes for his family.
While the country might have moved on from the incident, naturally so, Pearl reminded people of these fallen stars.
Just recently, Riky Rick's mother Louisa Zondo went to climb Mount Everest in Nepal, an effort to find meaning to life as a whole.
“Dearest MaRiky. It's early hours of the morning on March 23 2022, 1.03am, Nepal time. February 23 is the day on which your spirit and body separated. I am lying on my back in a warm bed in the Bhudda Lounge, Pahkding in Nepal. I'm in Nepal because I am on my way walking to Mount Everest Base Camp.”
She said this trip serves as a purpose to communicate with Riky, her late son, who taught her how to understand her challenges first before seeking to tackle them.
“I am very unskilled at staying with an enquiry — any enquiry — and going deep into it. You know this because during your 34 years of life on this side, you watched me 'busybody' myself through many crises. In fact you were the first person to really teach me to sit with challenges and 'encounter them' without rushing to offer what I perceived to be solutions, without needing to wipe away the challenge. For this reason, my Mount Everest Base Camp walk will be embodied in a long conversation with you,” the mourning mother said.
She then gave her Instagram followers a glimpse to how their trip is going. She went with her sister, who is Riky's aunty.
“Today we headed for Dingboche at an altitude of 44,00m above sea level. It seems my body can only promise to carry me if I maintain a pattern of extremely slow measured movements and breath intentionally. I comply, and for three and a half hours before lunch, I keep a snail’s pace through steep inclines and rocky terrain.”

“For most of today’s trek, we walked in silence giving full attention to the effort of placing one foot in front of the other. In this solitude, the contemplation of yesterday’s reflections on mental health continued and delved on the question of healing.”
