TV producers Shona and Connie Ferguson are back in the spotlight again. This time around one of their actors Mlamli Mangcala, who portrays the character of Captain Sthembiso Radebe on The Queen, has accused them of ill-treatment and deceiving him.
This is not the first actor to call out the Fergusons for alleged mistreatment. Mzansi recently called for them to be canceled, after it was alleged that they gave Dineo Langa the boot, but they came out guns blazing to deny the allegations of exploiting their actors.
In a letter that is circulating on social media, Mlamli said he is based in Cape Town but when he was told to move to Johannesburg for a year he endured a lot. The actor said he lost his car and was on the verge of losing his house, but his in-laws rescued him.
He said this is due to The Ferguson's empty promises on his salary adjustments. Mlamli claims that they promised to adjust his pay, but they did not live up to their promise.
The actor said they made him pay for being on TV. He said his pay was only increased by R100 twice after he asked them to look at his rates including traveling and accommodation as he is based in Cape Town.
Mlamli said they accommodated him at the Khoza Mansion, but they made him to share a bed with the caretaker.
The actor says last month he was told that they have decided to kill off his character to up their game, as their rival Mzansi Magic's Telenovela Gomora has been raking in the numbers.
The actor says he was forced to adjust his way of living and his children were forced to bear with this situation.
