As reported by the Sunday World, "the hair-raising tidbits were revealed by a highly placed source in the channel after stumbling upon confidential information communicated to executives"
"The source alleged that the drug dealers, who are possibly working in cahoots with rogue cops, have declared war on Khumalo and Tau, so they could continue with their illicit trade of selling drugs including nyaope, tik and cocaine, among others. The show is ruffling the feathers and exposing drug dealers and merchants who are mainly foreigners." reports the Sunday World
Already scores of viewers have urged for complete protection of Khumalo by both the South African Police Service (SAPS) and President, Cyril Ramaphosa.

“Because of the death threats made on them, their security measures have been heightened, leaving nothing to chance. Since Sizok’thola came on air, where Xolani is embarking on a crusade to expose drug dealers, the show has created serious ramifications for drug lords. It has caused a huge stir in the drug industry. This has caused drug dealers to threaten Xolani and Aubrey, as they had realised that the show is causing problems for them." said the source.
Sunday World continued to report that another "source said there are unknown people following Tau and Khumalo, noting that several suspicious vehicles have been driving past Tau’s house in Joburg with occupants surveying his property"
Moja Love channel head Bokani Moyo have since confirmed the death threats and threatening calls made to Khumalo and Channel's CEO, Aubrey Tau.
“We were aware of the risk we were taking when we agreed to broadcast the show. We are obligated to highlight issues that affect society, as drugs and crime are negatively impacting our communities. We are aware that our CEO Mr Aubrey Tau and Sizok’thola presenter Mr Xolani Khumalo have received death threats over the work the show is doing." said Bokani Moyo
Moyo assured that as the channel they are currently doing everything in their power to keep both Khumalo and Tau out of harms way.
"We are doing everything in our power to ensure the safety of our personnel. No amount of intimidation will stop us from doing our job.” added Moyo

And due to the sensitivity of the matter, unfortunately Moyo could not confirm nor deny whether the matter has been escalated to the authorities. However, Khumalo also assured to continue doing his job and making sure that Mzansi townships are drug free.
“I am not going to be intimidated and stopped from doing my job. It is our responsibility as South Africans to make sure that we root out all criminal elements in our society. As Sizok’thola team, we are still going to expose more wrongdoers. We need to rid our country of drugs and crime.” said Xolani Khumalo
