The SABC 3's popular telenovela 'The Estate' has found a new home. The show will be moving to SABC 1.
According to Entertainment Reporter Phil Mphela, SABC 1 viewers will get to watch the telenovela from next month, 6 September.

"The Estate moves to SABC1 The telenovela will air on the channel from the very first episode. The current episodic run on SABC3 will remain as is. The Estate will broadcast weekdays at 19:30 on SABC1, starting on the 6th of September 2021," tweeted Phil.

Reacting to the news, @KevinHunter_1 responded: "o maaka bathong, rather adapt more international shows into south African versions. it's not like SABC 3 was a premium channel and they re-broadcast it on a lower-tiered channel. haai kuya dlalwa apha"

"They need to also take new ideas from young creatives and pair them with established producers to develop new content. there's a new generation of audience members that are going to be more than 50% of their audience shares, they must cater to them."
Last week, the show celebrated its 100th episode.

Actress Dineo Langa also shared her excitement on Instagram, she thanked the fans for watching the show.

She wrote: “#TheEstateOn3 is celebrating 100 EPISODES today! What a journey and joy it’s been. The respect I have for each and every ounce of excellence that everyone brings to this show is indescribable!!! All this under the amazing leadership of @cmptvee. What a team, what a touch!!! Thanks to you guys for tuning in and helping us reach this point.”

The Estate's star Joanne Reyneke also wrote: "Tonight is @theestateons3 100th Episode!!!! Feels like just yesterday when we launch our heart project and now we are at Episode 100!!!
Thanks for watching and supporting our show. We Love You!! @cmptvee @sabc3"
Another popular show that recently celebrated its 100th episode is Mzansi Magic's Diep City.

The show's director and producer Mandla N told Drum that, Diep City is the biggest project he has worked on.

“Looking back on the work we have done on City Sesla, to Abo Mazala, Thandeka’s Diary, Sestopla, eHostela, Vula Vala, Loving Thokoza, DiepCity has been my biggest project yet,” Mandla N told the publication.
