Mona took to Instagram to share that with the start of women's month, she does not want to hear people chanting mbokodo and be strong, "Mbokodo ke mang, mbokodo se foet. Do you hear me? Mbokodo se donor, mbokodo se booty. Do you hear me?"
"There is no way in hell we are going to be the strong black woman...'you struck a woman, you struck a rock' You strike a woman, may God take your life...we have had it...guys we are tired as women...this women month, please do not come here with your nonsense about how we need to bekezela (toletate) and qinisela (hold on)...do not come to us with your nonsense asseblief tog.
"Black women this month, we cry, break down. Chommie you are not a rock...if you need to always be crying, cry. Break into tears randomly. Break into tears whenever you feel like it...we are going to be weak ka fost (by force), we are going to allow ourselves to break down, we are going to allow ourselves to not be okay until God tells us gore (that) stand up my child, stand up and walk, stand up and live your life, stand and be happy. Eseng (not when) a man tells us that we must do this, do that, go there, don't do that...be strong, we don't want to...never...not anymore..mbokodo se donoro...
"This women's month, please don't test us...please we are processing too much and this is possibly the worst time in history. I dint know. I physically don't know if I can handle hearing about anymore death. I physically do not know. Which is why I am like, I will not have anybody tell me gore (that) I must be strong about anything, anymore ever again in my life...
She also said "With All Due Respect...๐๐พDo not allow your healing to be stunted because you were told processing pain is weakness. We as black women have our own toxicity associated with not healing, not processing, not taking accountability, not being honest with ourselves...
"We will stop lying to ourselves because if ever there was a time to cut the deception it is now. We are losing mothers and fathers, homes are left without elders. Our future will be saved only by us.
"It starts with allowing yourself to not "be strong". RISE Queen. Rise into your healing"
People took to the comments section to agree with Mona's statement. These were some of the reactions:
