There is no stopping Uzalo's reign as the most-watched drama series in the country, and it seems that its only competition is itself.
For the month of April, the SABC 1 drama viewership grew to a record-breaking 11.4 million viewers, beating its own record.
The most-watched programme on Mzansi television beat its own record of 10 million viewers during lockdown with the episode that aired on April 15th is the most-watched.
Uzalo due to their production schedule being disrupted by the national lockdown is taking a production break as of May 11.
Following relaxed lockdown regulations being announced and South Africa moving to level 4 lockdown, Uzalo cast and crew were able to return to set in May.
Stained Glass TV, which produces Uzalo, however, has shared that as of Monday, 11 May 2020 Uzalo will be off the air and will return on Monday 15, June 2020.
