Vusi Nova shocked everyone when he announced that he would be switching from Afro-soul to Amapiano, complete with a new alter-ego, Snova. While many disapproved of the move, Vusi is here to tell the haters that they get no say in what he chooses to do, and Snova is here to stay.
His alter ego’s debut song, Shuku Shuku, has recently climbed up the charts in a magnificent way, leaving tongues wagging. The song came in third in airplay in the country, after Osama by Zakes Bantwini and Asibe Happy by Kabza de Small, DJ Maphorisa and Ami Faku. The song beat Adele’s Easy On Me, which has been topping charts globally.

As the singer took to his Instagram to celebrate his win, he was showered with praise and congratulations. But in the midst of it all, one detractor chose to offer their opinion on his career, to which Snova did not take kindly.
The fan told him that his voice is better suited for RnB, and he should consider sticking to the genre, rather than exploring Amapiano. But Snova clapped back immediately, letting the commenter know that it was none of their business what they sing, and if he doesn’t like his new music, he does not have to listen, but he can’t tell him what to do.

As TsishaLIVE reports, he has promised to still cater to his fans who love his afro-soul music. Even so, he is happy to celebrate this win, as it proves to him and his fans and haters that he made the right choice with the switch.
He is also grateful to his fans for supporting Shuku Shuku, even though it took a bit of time before the song finally made it up the charts. He is gearing up for a great year in 2022, and promises more tours and events, as lockdown restrictions have been lifted.

The singer has recently topped trends repeatedly for a while, but not because of his great voice and music. Ever since a now-deleted nude picture of his bestie Somizi re-emerged online, with the caption crediting Vusi as the photographer, rumours of the two of them dating have intensified once again.
The two of them have been close friends for over 16 years, by their admission, but they have sworn repeatedly that there is nothing more than friendship between them. Regardless of the fact that Vusi has publicly shared pictures of his girlfriend on multiple occasions, the rumours remain alive, possibly because the besties just seem to have great chemistry with each other.
A huge congratulations to Snova on his big win. What he achieved is amazing, especially after all the backlash he initially faced. We are glad the change worked out for him, and hope he sticks with it long enough to see it flourish more.
