What would a party or a wedding be without a DJ? Boring of course. So yes, DJs are highly important to music lovers, and as much as we have plenty of well-skilled DJs in this country, we still need a good number of females representing this artform.
We are calling out all aspiring female DJ's out there who are doing an amazing job on the decks to continue with their hustle, your work may not be acknowledged
DJ Cndo, during her varsity studies at Mangosuthu Technikon, fell in love with DJ-ing, started learning how to mix and soon after mastering the skill of mixing she started playing at gigs at her Technikon. Today she is one of the most respected DJs in South Africa.
DJ Doowap is known for her funky style and her colorful hairstyle, having lived in the UK for four years, she came back to South Africa to pursue her love for DJ-ing. Doowap is all about old school music; TLC and Salt n' Pepa is what you should expect from her music mixes.
Hip Hop DJ, Ms Cosmo knows her brand very well because she always delivers whenever she is booked. This sassy DJ also has a show on 5 FM called The Stir Up.
And the obvious DJ Zinhle, we love how she is not only about her passion for music, but for women empowerment as well. We're still waiting to see more talent come from her Fuse Academy.
YFM's Hip Hop DJ, Ayanda MVP is another hot female making waves on the decks, any party that has her on the line-up is bound to be lit.
