Singer Zandie Khumalo is celebrating the success of her single Akwanele which has reached gold status.
The singer was awarded her plaque for single Akwanele featuring Lindani Gumede by her record label Songs on the Charts at an event held at Views at Twenty5 in Durban.
At the celebration Zandie and Kelly Khumalo's mother, Ntombifuthi attended the celebration and had only good things to say about her daughter.
“Zandie was only two when she started singing.
“She couldn’t talk, but could sing, and that was when I noticed she was extraordinary. I guess she takes after me because I also love singing and used to sing in the church choir,” said proud mommy Ntombifuthi.
This is Zandie's first gold status achievement and according to her it definitely won't be her last as that's a promise God made to her.
The celebration was attended by her collaborator Lindani Gumede, gospel singer Dumi Mkokstad and radio presenter Khaya Dladla. Zandie's estranged sister Kelly was not at the event.
