More people choose English as the first spoken language in South Africa so it is great to see our celeb parents passing on their heritage to their kids.
In celebration of their son's third birthday, TV personality Nandi Madida shared an adorable video of her hubby, musician Zakes Bantwini teaching Shaka to speak isiZulu.
Nandi shared the video on social media where Zakes is seen teaching Shaka their mother tongue by pointing out objects in a book for him to repeat.
Other celebs that are full supporters of speaking in their mother tongue and have shared tweets of them reading and speaking their home languages are Afrikaans rapper Jack Parow (@JackParow); acclaimed jazz singer, Judith Sephuma (@judith_sephuma); activist, actress and glamorous literacy ambassador, Hlubi Mboya (@HlubiMboya), television personality Akhumzi Jezile (@akhumzij); rapper Zeus (@zeusgc) and columnist Palesa Morudu (@palesamorudu).
