Not too long ago fans were taken aback by headlines that resurfaced claiming that Bongani “Murdahbongz” Mahosana and Thabo Smol Mabongwane who make up Black Motion had separated and moved into their solo careers outside the band but they have shut these claims down and confirmed that they are indeed still together and in fact, working on their upcoming album as Black Motion.
The two bandmates also shared that they will be taking personal gigs as solo artists with Bongani also announcing some changes to his name and overall brand. He is now in Miami for the first leg of his international tour as a solo artist.

Bongani who’s popular by his stage name Murdahbongz now goes by Morda, a Swedish word for Murder. He announced this name change last week in a statement that was clarifying his commitments to Black Motion saying that the only change will be him rebranding to Morda “because he is preparing to launch his solo career as a DJ, but still remains part and parcel of Black Motion.”
Smol will also be venturing on some solo projects which he preferred not to announce yet until his plans are solidified according to the statement by Black Motion’s management team.
Morda, who’s also DJ Zinhle's boyfriend and baby daddy has been hinting on his social media channels that he was already starting his solo career as we saw him perform a number of times without his bandmate Smol. Today, the DJ and producer took to Instagram sharing that he is in Miami for a gig and is set to tour throughout the USA, UK, and some parts of North Africa in the next two months all by himself.
Morda shared a very demanding gig guide that will see him jet-set around the globe from Miami Beach Club to Dubai, to Amsterdam, then to London, and Belgium, and then back in Africa where he’ll perform in Morocco, then jet off once again to play at an island in Mykonos, Greece, then to New York City, and back to London for a second run, then Venezuela after, and close off his tour in Bali all in two months time, talk about commitment and dedication.
Fans have been making speculations that the DJ’s involvement and relationship with DJ Zinhle has been the main reason why he decided to venture and branch out into a solo career. At some point, he was seen sharing a DJ set with his bae at Nomuzi Mabena’s Moozlie Monday event in Daveyton two weeks ago. But most of his fans have been showing him support and motivating him to keep winning even as a solo artist.
Recently, a popular Twitter troll by the name of Chris Excel called Morda DJ Zinhle’s handbag but his loyal fans received the last laugh as he proved to be a well-established and highly in-demand international DJ. One fan shared the DJ’s gig guide in a tweet that reads, “If this is what being DJ Zinhle’s handbag looks like then sign me up.” He further shared a quote for haters by 50 Cent which says, “Go ahead and switch your style up and if they are hating, let them hate and watch the money pile up.”
