Award winning gospel star Deborah Fraser has been in the industry for more than 3 decades now, and she has managed to garner herself a huge following with her music.

Throughout her successful music career, the star has sold millions of copies, toured across the world and even rubbed shoulders with the bests in the game. It pains many to learn that she has been ailing for a while now.

According to Daily Sun, the singer is wheelchair-bound and she cannot walk. A video of her performing in a wheelchair has gone viral on social media.

In the video she shares that it has been a tedious journey and in February she thought she was not going to make it. Speaking to the publication, she said she is not acting, but she cannot walk.

“It all began when I started vomiting uncontrollably and I lost my strength.”

“Ever since then, I haven’t been able to walk,"
she told the publication.

The singer said she was hospitalized for two months in February and March this year due to diabetes. As a result, her movement coordination has been impacted and does not function well.

She also shut down rumors that she is acting after being seen wheelchair bound. According to her, her voice is perfect and she had hoped that fans would not see her in her current state.

We wish her a speedy recovery.

Another musician who has left Mzansi concerned about her well-being is Lira. Earlier this week, her family released a statement revealing that the musician suffered a stroke while performing in Germany and that she had to leave after her speech was affected.

According to the statement she is receiving the best medical attention and she had been advised that her journey to recovery will take a while.

“To Lira's beloved fans, clients, and associates: As Lira's family, we would like to take this opportunity to share some recent developments regarding Lira's health. Lira recently traveled to Germany for performance but unfortunately suffered a stroke whilst there. As a result, her ability to communicate, in particular, her speech, has been impacted.”

“She is currently undergoing treatment here in South Africa led by the best medical team available. Her medical team has advised that her journey to recovery will require patience and therefore, it is unlikely that she will be able to perform in the short term.”

Lira remains in good spirits and is surrounded by family and friends, “That said, Lira is in good spirits and is surrounded by her loving family and close friends as she journeys towards a full recovery. “
