It's true what they say, all publicity is good publicity and the MacG incident is proof of that. Weekly, the podcaster receives some hate for something he says which is deemed sensitive or offensive to the public. The latest incident being the Ari Lennox issue, which saw American podcasters gaining an interest in him.

Podcast and Chill with MacG is by far the greatest podcast to ever come out of Mzansi and the numbers speak for themselves. He is up there with the greats and his 500 000 subscribers are the ones he should thank the most.
MacG and American rapper and podcaster Joe Budden seem to be beefing over Joe's reaction to the Ari and MacG incident. He labelled him a "shock jock" which did not land well with MacG who called him out and dissed him in IsiXhosa.
On Monday's episode, Sol and MacG weighed in on the debacle. Sol said, “If you’re going to talk about people, research them. You owe it to your listeners”.
But MacG did not give it to him nicely, “The only thing shocking are his numbers. F** Joe Budden. What a loser!”
Budden did not seem to care so he said he does not care about the "South African Podcaster."
In an interview on Higher Learning Podcast with Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay, MacG issued a scathing message to Joe when he said he is not a "shock jock."
"Please tell Joe Budden I am not a shock jock dawg, I am a broadcaster, I've been doing this longer than him," he said adding that he has been doing this for 20 years.

With all that's been said though, MacG saw it's best to apologise to Ari Lennox. “I want to sincerely apologise for that question and how it made her feel. And everything that came after that interview dropped. I’m not a malicious person. I don’t hate anyone.
“I have the utmost respect for women. I would love to genuinely apologise to Ari and everyone who I might have offended with those comments.”
Supporting MacG though is Charlamagne Tha God who said he would rather teach MacG the right way to do things, instead of trying to cancel him.
“You know I love watching young media personalities attempt to figure it out and one thing I won't do is judge MacG because I — at one point — was a MacG. I was one of those young boys like that so I would rather counsel the man instead of cancel him. This is a teachable moment for young media personalities.
“I didn't hear the whole context of the conversation I just heard that part so I don't know how they got to that question but let me be the first to tell you, it's not what you say but how you say it. I feel like if it's based of something an artist said in the song is fair game but the delivery has to be correct.”
Fans appreciated his constructive criticism, instead of Budden's hate.
