Stoan Seate is a Kwaito legend as he was part of the iconic band Bongo Maffin which was part of the groups that pioneered the sound. As a solo artist, his music might have not made an impact as much as fellow bandmate Thandiswa Mazwai, or as a brand he did not have as much of an impact as Jah Seed.

However, Stoan did create his own path as he ventured into television presenting and acting. However, one thing that he had not done throughout his illustrious career was trend. However, at the beginning of the week, Stoan changed all of that when he finally did trend.
But his reason for trending was not for favourable reasons. This is as Stoan landed on the trends list for all the wrong reasons as reported:
Bongo Maffin alumni Stoan Seate celebrated a milestone recently when for the first time in his career, the musician-turned-actor and television personality saw his name trending. However, his trending was bittersweet specifically, due to the fact that he was trending for all the wrong reasons.
This is as Stoan ruffled more than a few feathers when he took to Twitter during this past National Shutdown spearheaded by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), and posted, “F*ck EFF.” Safe to say that in light of his comments, he got cooked by social media users.
At the time, Stoan was steadfast in his stance. However, as the week has continued, it seems that Stoan has had a change of heart.
Stoan Finally Apologises
It might be that when Stoan was beginning to be dragged over the allegations that he was a deadbeat father to his eldest daughter, Malaika Mazwai, who he had with Thandiswa Mazwai, that he started to have a change of heart. This is after Malaika “joked” on social media by dragging her father.
Thereafter, it was Ntsiki Mazwai who revisited the allegations of Stoan not being present for Malaika despite portraying himself as a wholesome father and husband with his wife and two children. All of this seemed to finally get to Stoan as he finally offered an apology on Twitter for his inflammatory tweet directed at EFF supporters.
As such, the apology read in part:
“I know my words hurt you and you want me to feel the same depth of pain… I regret that. After a lot of introspection and reflection I’ve realised my words cut deep… and words matter. I love my country and my people deeply and I understand that some of my family, associates and countrymen are EFF supporters and voters.”
But the lengthy “apology” did end with a sense that Stoan was merely writing the apology as a form of damage control rather than sharing a sincere apology as he went on to state:
“This is not to say that I STILL don’t agree with some of the doctrine, methods and tactics used by the party and I will continue to express myself as a FREE man.”
Lastly, Stoan attempted to beat the deadbeat allegations as he finally congratulated his daughter on social media on her recent graduation.
