Advocate Malesela Teffo has topped the Twitter trends list after eNCA reported that he has backtracked his statement about resigning as counsel for the four accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.
This follows after he recently announced his resignation leaving everyone stunned. “On the 28th of April, when I was arrested before your court, your lordship. That was the plan hatched in the office of the president, the number 1 office of the number one in the country that I am a problematic advocate. I am interfering with the plan that has been hatched that my client should take the responsibility of the murder of Senzo Meyiwa, despite the facet that they were innocent," he told the court.
Teffo cited harassment by the police, the state, and the courts as part of his reason for resignation. But according to eNCA, he has written to the Igh Court to inform them that he is back. The defense lawyer was recently a guest on Nkululeko n Cultr and he weighed in on the case
“The story of the people entering the house and killing Senzo is nonsensical. That is nonsense. No one entered in this house.”
“If there’s a killer, if Senzo was killed or shot by someone, the shooter is in the house. The murder weapon is in the house. These people in the house, they know what happened to Senzo.”
Tweeps have reacted to Teffo's unexpected comeback.

Last month Teffo left tongues wagging after he claimed that Kelly Khumalo allegedly fired the fatal shot that claimed the life of Senzo Meyiwa.
Teffo alleged that Senzo had already died when he was transported to the hospital, “We will call the witness who will testify that Senzo Meyiwa died on the scene. When you say they took him to the hospital to save his life, actually, they were going to dump him at the hospital mortuary,” he alleged.
Teffo further argued that the scene had been tampered with during the cross-examination of Sgt Thabo Mosia, the first forensic officer who went to the crime scene.
“That scene was not complete without the body of Senzo Meyiwa. I put it to you that the fact that the body of Senzo Meyiwa was removed from the scene was contamination of the scene because it was taken by the people who do not have medical training,” he added.
