It is no secret that songstress Kelly Khumalo and her estranged sister Zandie Khumalo, are not on good terms. The two had a public fallout in 2020, and one wonders when their feud will be laid to rest

Zandie's cryptic Instagram post has set tongues wagging, this follows the ongoing drama surrounding the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial. Yesterday advocate Malesela Teffo made some startling accusations against Kelly in the Pretoria High Court during his cross-examination of Sergeant Thabo Mosia, the first witness for the state and a police forensic officer. Teffo claimed that Kelly allegedly shot Meyiwa by mistake using a revolver that came with Longwe Twala.

“I put it to you that … an eyewitness will testify that Senzo Robert Meyiwa was allegedly shot by Nonhlanhla Kelly Khumalo by mistake as it is alleged” he claimed.

He added "The same eyewitness will further testify that the firearm used to shoot Senzo Robert Meyiwa by Kelly Khumalo came with Longwe Twala, and that firearm was a revolver." Now, tweeps are speculating that Zandie might be the eyewitness who is set to testify in court against Kelly.

Zandie raised eyebrows yesterday after she took to her Instagram page to share lyrics of her new song Ikhwela. The Zulu lyrics loosely translate to: “I have travelled a long journey I’m no longer going back I’m even hated by a lot of people."

In closing she said "The time has come for me to blow a whistle , what do you say ??? There’s no day that will never come." Many questioned the timing of her post, as it coincided with the ongoing drama of the trial.
Zandie divorced Kelly in 2020 and their rift was caused by her husband Mhlonishwa Gumede. This follows after he allegedly used Kelly's name for an event she was not involved in. Mhlo duped an event organizer into paying R17,000 by using Kelly and Vusi Nova's names for the event, but Kelly was not aware of this.

Kelly distanced herself from the alleged scam and released a statement clarifying that Mhlo was not her booking manager. "With all due respect, Mhlo Gumede is my sister's husband And manager NOT my bookings manager nor part of my team, never was and never will be, so whatever dealings you may have with him Do NOT involve me," wrote Kelly at the time.

In a scathing letter Zandie said she had divorced Kelly, and said she was toxic and needed help. She further accused Kelly of allegedly sabotaging her career and exploiting her.

But recently she hoped they could make amends and let bygones be bygones. She posted a short prayer with an old photo of them asking God to help them fix things and pray that Kelly will remain strong.

"God, wherever she is, continue to give her strength. Please keep our mother alive, she is very hopeful that one day things will change for the better."
