Nokuthula Mabika who plays the role of Thobile confirmed the return of the duo this Monday on Instagram thanking fans for their prayers.
Tomorrow is the day #UzaloNation thank you so much for your prayers, they finally came to fruition.. your favorite duo is back! Tune in promise to give you a show.”

Khaya Dladla also gave his followers a heads-up about GC‘s return, he wrote: “Back by popular demand. You have been asking me when is this day ever going to come? @stainedglasstv1 and @uzalo_sabx! Have decided to answer your prayers. Thank you for the love & support in this journey, it humbles me.”

Fans took to Twitter to share their excitement following the return of GC and Thobile. However, other fans of the show seemed less impressed with their return and the storyline.
@BekithembaZ:At some point, I need to come to terms with the fact that #Uzalo is not for me. I love it to the moon & back because it's a Durban production. Their studio is the warmest place I wish everyone could feel the love from that place But content-wise, I'm not the target market.”

In 2018 Uzalo announced the exit of few cast members. Viewers said goodbye to Nay Maps Maphalale, Nokuthula Mabika, and Glen Gabela introducing new faces, the likes of  Thuthuka Mthembu (Nonku), Nkanyiso Makhaya (Njeza), and Noxolo Mathula(Lilly). However, the production again announced the return of few cast members this year.

Another Uzalo top actor expected to exit the show is Dawn Thandeka King. Her Uzalo exit storyline will see original cast members Ntokozo “TK” Dlamini, and Nkosinathi “Nay Maps” Maphalala, return to SA’s most-watched show.

Dawn Thandeka reportedly dumped Uzalo for Black Brains Picture’s new show Diep City. The show focuses on the struggles of four young women who are trying to make their way in the world. These women were forced into crime when they were teenagers.

Talking about the show, Creator and director Mandla N said: “The secret recipe behind great storytelling is a mix of several ingredients – a relatable storyline, great casting, and a passion for filmmaking. We expect viewers to be blown away by Nox’s story, which is one of poverty, heartbreak, redemption, and hope, all encompassed into one crime thriller.”
