Rangers International general manager Amobi Ezeaku has stepped down from his role as secretary of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Club Owners Association.
Ezeaku made the announcement in a statement released yesterday, ending a spell he described as rewarding and meaningful. In the message, he thanked the association’s leadership and membership for the backing he received during his time in office.
“Today, I have officially submitted my resignation as Secretary of the Nigeria Premier Football League Club Owners Association,” Ezeaku said. “It is a deep honour and privilege to have been allowed to work with club owners and football administrators who share a commitment to strengthening and sustaining professional football in Nigeria.”
He added that he is grateful to chairman Okey Kpalukwu, the executive committee members, and the club owners for their cooperation throughout his tenure.
Even after his resignation, Ezeaku stressed that his dedication to Nigerian football has not changed.
“My resignation will in no way lessen or alter my commitment to Nigerian football. I remain deeply passionate about the sport and will continue to back efforts that drive excellence, uphold integrity, encourage innovation and support sustainable development across our football landscape,” he said.
The move comes with renewed discussion about his next career step following comments made last week, when he indicated he was weighing multiple possibilities, including reported interest in roles connected to FIFA and CAF.
