Daytayo Opens Campaign Office, Says It Shows Preparedness for 2027 Ogun Bid

Politics

Daytayo, founder of the Daytayo Progressive Movement (DPM), said the formal launch of the campaign office is meant to signal far more than the opening of a new building. He framed the move as evidence of preparation, strategic planning and a stated direction for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.

Campaign office unveiled as a signal of direction

In remarks surrounding the unveiling, Daytayo suggested that people who attended would see tangible signs that Ogun State’s political environment is shifting. He argued that the contest for governor in 2027 should not be treated as “business as usual,” implying a break from past campaign patterns.

He added that the campaign is already underway in terms of pitching a different political approach. That strategy, he said, rests on ideas, coordinated planning, grassroots mobilisation and what he described as purposeful leadership.

Focus on issues, competence and grassroots mobilisation

Daytayo said he is confident that Senator Yayi’s background and record of public service will continue to resonate with residents of Ogun State. He used the occasion to call on political figures across party lines to run campaigns centred on issues rather than personal clashes.

  • He urged campaigns to highlight competence and credibility.
  • He called for attention to performance and practical solutions to the state’s challenges.
  • He warned against personal attacks and divisive political tactics.

Support pledge and call for a peaceful election

A Special Assistant to the Governor also reiterated support for Senator Yayi’s ambition. The aide said they are optimistic the campaign will build momentum across all 20 local government areas of Ogun State.

The Special Assistant prayed for an electioneering season that remains peaceful, credible and driven by issues as the state moves toward the 2027 governorship election.
