Oredipe, speaking to reporters on Tuesday on behalf of the leadership and supporters of the OTO team, said the results of the senatorial primary have energized party members as they look toward the general election. While celebrating the outcome, he also pledged that the group would continue to back the governor’s ambition for a seat in the senate.
He argued that the governor’s approach to leadership and the record of accomplishments during his time in office have increased confidence among party loyalists and residents across the state. In his view, the primary win is not only a personal milestone for Abiodun, but also a meaningful turning point for the party’s broader political path.
“Your leadership and dedication to the progress of Ogun State have been clearly shown through this achievement. As you move into the general election, we are solidly behind you, and we will support you at every stage,” he said.
The former aspirant also praised the governor’s continuing development efforts, pointing in particular to programmes being carried out with the oversight of Tokunbo Talabi. Among the projects he cited were the installation of solar-powered and manually operated boreholes, the procurement of transformers aimed at improving electricity supply, and the grading of roads across local government areas.
He further commended what he described as the administration’s direct financial assistance to vulnerable citizens, presenting it as evidence of inclusive governance and compassion. In the same message, he urged party members to close ranks, arguing that internal solidarity would be crucial as the campaign enters a more competitive phase.
Addressing calls for unity, he asked Otunba Gbenga Daniel to work together with the party’s candidate. “Now is the moment for us to unite, put aside our differences, and show that we are prepared for the opportunities and challenges ahead. By acting together, we can push forward the interests of Ogun State and keep building a more promising future for everyone,” he added.
Oredipe said that cooperation between party leaders and supporters would strengthen the party’s efforts in the run-up to the general election, while also sustaining momentum for progress across the state. He reiterated the OTO team’s loyalty to the governor’s senatorial campaign, expressing confidence that the election contest will build on the administration’s achievements and help deliver what he described as a better future for Ogun State.
