Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze will remain at AC Milan following his return from a loan spell at Fulham, with the club confirming that the 27-year-old is part of their plans going forward.
Milan’s incoming head coach, Ruben Amorim, has made the decision clear, saying he intends to keep the Nigeria international in his squad.
Amorim highlighted Chukwueze’s ability to change games in tight moments, pointing to the winger’s strength in one-on-one situations as a key reason for retaining him. “Chukwueze will stay with us because of his one against one, and I think we need players that can go one against one,” he said.
The coach also suggested that Chukwueze offers tactical flexibility, adding that his profile fits the group as Milan looks to operate with different setups. “I think players like Musa and Chukwueze have the quality to be in our squad and give us alternatives to play in different systems.”
Chukwueze’s loan at Fulham had raised questions over his future at the San Siro, with Milan previously considered moving him on to generate funds, including the possibility of a sale.
That uncertainty has now eased, though the winger had been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks. Interest was reported from Fulham, Trabzonspor, Bologna, and Fiorentina, reflecting the attention his performances have drawn.
For Nigeria, Chukwueze has built an international record of 59 appearances and seven goals, earning his place as one of the team’s leading wide options as Milan move to secure his long-term involvement.
