Words of comfort are still coming in for South African actress and AIDS ambassador Hlubi Mboya -Arnold (44), following the death of her sister, media personality and journalist Kuli Roberts (49).
Kuliโs news of passing on Wednesday, 9 October 2022 as per the statement released came as a shock to many.
Hlubi ,best known for her role as Nandipha Sithole on the SABC3 soapie Isidingo, confirmed her sister's passing and shared a family statement on Instagram yesterday. Since yesterday the South African actress and AIDS ambassador has been receiving condolences messages for both media friends and fans of Kuli.
Actress and TV host Thami Ngubeni wrote to Hlubi on Twitter and said: "My condolences and heartfelt prayers to you my dearest Hlubi, Kuliโs beloved children, parents and entire family. This feels so surreal. Kuli was larger than life, with a heart so big. She certainly lived life her way. We were blessed to have known and loved her."
TV personality and SABC 2 Morning Live presenter Leanne Manas also left a heartfelt message.
She posted: "Hlubi please accept my deepest sympathies. I am devastated to hear about your sisters passing. I absolutely loved her as much as I love you. Be strong for the family my friend."
A fan of Kuli also commented, โYour Dear sister was a true South African Icon and we are most lucky to have lived in the era of Kuli Roberts. So fierce, a force and so brilliant at what she did. Unreal. So sorry for your loss, Hlubi. Sympathies to you and your family."
โHlubi, I so want to reach out and give you a tight hug right now. I experienced Kuli the daughter, mom, sister and all that was lovable and beyond heavenly, may you all be granted peace and strength, you all are loved, much love People hugging my love to you all."
We hope Hlubi will continue to find comfort in these words. Hlubi shot to fame in late 2000. She is SAFTA award-winning South African actress. She made her film debut in 2006, in a South African short film Shogun Khumalo is dying.

Apart from acting, she is an entrepreneur, civil rights activist, philanthropist, adventurer, athlete, scholar, rebel-heart and devoted wife.
According to Mlasa.com, one of the projects sheโs most passionate about is Sisters Working in Film and Television (Swift), a South African-based non-profit organisation for women in film and television. The organisation was formed to address patriarchy and lack of equity and equality in the industry. Sheโs one of the founding members. Their main aim is making sure women have equal rights in the entertainment industry. Other fellow actors have thrown their weight behind the project, which also tackles sexual harassment in the industry.
