It’s no secret that DJ Black Coffee is one of the busiest South African musicians. The DJ is constantly booked internationally, which obviously has an impact on his family life. But he and Enhle Mbali Maphulo, his wife, make it work.
Asked if there’s a secret to making their (sometimes) long distance relationship work, he told Metro FM’s Fresh Breakfast show on Friday morning: “I don’t think so. People will say it’s a lot of things. You can FaceTime all you like, but if there’s no real love…”
The award-winning DJ said he was fortunate enough to find someone as ‘Nkosinathi’, who fits in the Black Coffee world as well.
“Someone who I can be with any time of the day. That’s our source… Someone who I relate with as Nkosinathi. That’s where it starts, that’s the core. The core is we want to be together.”
He also addressed his wife’s recent hijacking, telling the breakfast team: “It’s like a reminder of how real life is. Because somehow with everything happening, work, you think you have everything figured out.”
The couple has been rocked with a few challenges in the last couple of years, including alleged cheating rumours.
