"Dating a broke girl is so toxic shame," he laughed. This did not sit well with many of his followers, who called him to order.

"It's toxic because nawe as a man you promised to provide and you know very well you don't keep your promises.. Why don't you ask her about what she can do best with her hands and buy her start up stock and you can help her to find customers.. Then if she refuses leave or support," a follower said.

"Broke girls are toxic, Independent women are control freaks, Slay Queens are demanding. What exactly do you want from us. You become broke, they label you, you become independent, they label you, you become a slay queen, they label you," an enraged follower responded.

One woman however, took it far when she dissed Madumane because he was accused of dating a teenage girl. She asked him, "Where do you expect 19 years old to get money from?"
There was a time where Maphorisa was slammed for dating a 19-year-old influencer by the name of Cyan Bouke. The drama started when Cyan accused her ex-friend, influencer named Beverly for allegedly sleeping with multiple men. She also revealed a screenshot of a conversation with her where she, Beverly, reveals that she is dating Maphorisa.

Eraly this year, it was reported that Madumane survived attempted murder after his Mercedes-Benz tour bus got hit by a hail of bullets. After Sunday World revealed this, he and his team went into hiding and were off the radar on social media.

The shooting happened in East Rand and people speculated that it had to do with another man's woman who he apparently stole. “Shooter was the girls’ boyfriend who wanted his girlfriend who was in the Merc bus I wouldn’t blame him. Celebrities must learn to leave people's women, there are dangerous people out there, and just because you are famous doesn’t make you untouchable,” wrote a tweep.
