There is a pregnancy bug going around in Mzansi. We don’t know how or why, but every third celebrity has announced their pregnancy, and it is making Dr Musa Mthombeni very nervous. He has rejected the pregnancy bug vehemently.
He recently went on his Instagram stories to introduce his show and to ask fans to tune in, as the episode would be about pregnancy. He said there was a pregnancy bug going around in the air, so it would be wise to watch the segment to be prepared.
His coworker on the show asked whether he and his wife Liesl Laurie are pregnant too, since he had said everybody is currently pregnant. His response to the question was both sweet and hilarious.
“Never. No thank you. Siyabonga my wife and I really appreciate all of your wishes for pregnancy but we humbly reject all of those wishes. Back to sender. We don’t have money for children. Children are expensive. We have no money.”
“We have no money for the rest of the year, no money for 2023 either. We’ll consider children in 30 years or so,” he continued.
We certainly agree – children are expensive and require a lot of financial planning before having any. But Dr Musa can’t seem to make up his mind on when he wants to have kids. Not too long ago, he shared a picture of a very pretty baby girl on his Instagram stories, and told Liesl to be prepared to give him one exactly like that soon.
Now he has changed his tune and will only be ready in about 30 years. So which one is it, Musa? In three years or thirty?
He was certainly joking about one of those timelines, but with his sense of humour, it can be hard to tell which was the joke and which one was serious. He recently remembered his late friend, actor Akhumzi Jezile with some truly dark humour.
He turned to social media to express his dissatisfaction with his weight gain. He claims that the rate at which he is gaining weight is abnormal, and that it must signify that Akhumzi is sending extra fat down from above.
Even Andile Ncube joined in on the fun, and told him that Akhumzi would never give away his fat like that, and would rather keep it all to himself. Dr Musa was also made fun of for his dark complexion, but it was all in good humour.
It will definitely be a treat to see Musa and Liesl’s kids – they would make gorgeous babies. But of course, only when they are both ready.
