Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo’s family have released a statement following her recent tweet where she revealed that she was fighting for her life in hospital.
Firstly, the family has thanked everyone for their continued support concerning their daughter Thembisa. They did confirm that she is indeed hospitalized and is receiving the best medical care in Sandton.
“The Mdoda family would like to thank all of you for all the calls and the messages concerning our beloved daughter Thembisa Nxumalo (Nee Mdoda) following a tweet regarding her health. She is indeed hospitalized and receiving the best medical treatment at Sandton MediClinic. She was diagnosed with long Covid-19 which was further aggravated by an allergy. We are fortunate the doctors diagnosed her in time and are treating her with the utmost care.”
The statement also said that Thembisa will be released in the next couple of days and we will be hearing from her. They have also extended the grace they’ve received to all those families in need.
“Thembisa is in good spirits and well taken care of and will be released in the next few days. The family is grateful for your love and support during this time, it truly doesn’t go unnoticed. You will be hearing from Thembisa very soon.

Thembisa had her fans worried after she revealed that battling for her life in hospital. This had many people worried and reaching out to her family.
“My kid feeling my grief and comforting me, on the phone today, knowing very well that I’m also fighting for dear life on this hospital bed. What a heavy day.”
Nxumalo added that she didn’t have the strength to do anything else and encouraged everyone to stay safe. “At my most vulnerable. I actually don’t have the strength for anything else. Stay safe everyone. Love your loved ones. Love them hard.”
She tweeted on the same day that South Arica laid renowned television star and producer, Shona Ferguson to rest. Upon hearing about the news, she took to social media to express her shock after finding out that her colleague had passed on. “Still in utter disbelief. You don’t get to experience people like Shona Ferguson and not be moved or inspired. Affirms you constantly. Pushes you artistically. He believed in all of us and showed it too. What do we do with all this heartache. Praying for sis Connie, Sedi, Ali & Roro, Lauren, Lorato…we are with you, praying for you. Covering you.

Thembisa worked on a couple of projects with Uncle Sho, including The Queen Mzansi and Unmarried 1 Magic.
