Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela broke the great news on Twitter today, 6 May.
“Casting news: Lethabo ‘LeJoy’ Mathatho. The Real Housewives of Joburg star is the new host of the SABC2 current affairs show, Leihlo La Sechaba. In the show, journalists investigate topics of interest, human interest stories, corruption & crime. Congrats LeJoy” wrote Phil.
Former presenters of Leihlo La Sechaba include the likes of Palesa Chubisi who was allegedly fired from the SABC following Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s report alleging irregularity in filling the position of producer/presenter for the SABC’s morning news show, Morning Live. The report stated that Palesa was appointed in the position without following proper recruitment procedures back in 2016.
Last year in October, Lejoy bagged herself a presenting gig on Mzansi Magic as a presenter of the reality show titled Ingane Yam. The show is about parents introducing their illegitimate children to their families.
Speaking about Ingane Yam, the Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net Nomsa Philiso said: “Mzansi Magic continues to be a beacon of African storytelling and this new show fits the bill. From emotions of neglect, curiosity, a search for a sense of belonging to closure, this show mirrors the real struggles that these children are faced with as they navigate their daily lives and viewers would not want to miss what we have in store for them.”

Lejoy also has a radio background. She worked for Thobela FM for a long time and she has also worked Capricorn FM.
Speaking about her radio departure on #RHOJ, she said she decided to put a pause on her radio career to declare a new chapter in her life, she was also celebrating 12 years in the radio industry.
“I am totally not even scared of what’s coming ahead…yes challenges will be there but I can assure you that it’s going to be the best vision of Lethabo that you have ever seen. If you thought you know me and you know who Lejoy is, more is yet to come,” said Lejoy.
She got her big break when she was cast as a member of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg. During her interview with Drum Magazine, Lejoy said she always wanted to be part of the show.
"I’ve always wanted to be on the show. I love the glitz because I grew up the complete opposite.”
