At the beginning of 2018, Sbahle Mpisane had it all, money, fame, a thriving career, and a relationship that many were envious of but by the end of the same year, the beauty's life had drastically changed.
Before Mamkhize became a media sensation, Sbahle Mpisane was the most famous person in their family. The beauty was thrust into mainstream media when she started dating Itumeleng Khune and soon after that, the two were one of South Africa's most-followed couples.
Towards the end of the year, Sbahle, who had dubbed herself, Fitness Bunny' had a life-altering accident that almost ended her life. On the 9th of August 2018, Sbahle was involved in a car accident when she allegedly lost control of her vehicle and collided with a tree.
According to reports, her luxurious BMW allegedly went into flames and the rising star sustained major injuries which resulted in both of her hands being fractured and an undisclosed injury on her leg.
The beauty subsequently spent months in the hospital fighting for her life and since leaving the hospital, Sbhahle has been making strides in getting better. When Sbahle left the hospital, she could not walk, she moved around in a wheelchair, and in recent months, the gym fanatic can now take steps.
In her first interview since her accident in 2018, Sbahle spoke about her healing with Toke Makinwa on Honey's, Talk With Toke Makinwa.
When asked how she coped with not being able to live the way she did before the accident, she said, "The only awkward part about my accident was not being able to train, I am such an active person, so it was awkward with me being so active, it felt like someone turned off the main switch on my career and life."
She added, "With my accident, I had to sit down and not do anything, it has been three years and I am still kinda relaxed"
On how she got through the dark days, she said, "It was very dark, I would cry a lot. Another thing that made it dark was because I had put in so much to be this person, besides me being Fitness Bunny, even my degree and now I am in a situation where I can't operate but at the same time, it was relaxing, I had a good support system in my life."

In the same interview, Sbhahle thanked her mom, Mamkhize, for being there for her and saving her foot after the accident, “if mom (Mamkhize) did not pull through on that day, I would have not had a foot today, she literally saved my foot," she explained.
