Media personality Ayanda Thabethe has reacted to being mistaken for Miss South Africa 2022 first runner-up Ayanda Thabethe.

She won a R150 000 cash prize after taking second place at Miss South Africa 2022 at SunBet Arena in Time Square, Pretoria on Saturday. Ndavi Nokeri was crowned Miss SA 2022, and she received R1 million in cash as part of a prize and sponsorship package worth more tR3 millionlion, which included access to the luxurious Ellipse Waterfall apartment. Among other things, she'll drive a Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Now, according to TV host Ayanda Thabethe, she has been receiving numerous congratulatory messages after being mistaken for Ayanda. In a tweet, she wrote, "The amount of congratulatory messages I’ve received for being a Miss SA runner-up... Thanks guys on behalf of ubizo."

Ayanda has expressed her gratitude to her supporters for rallying behind her throughout her Miss SA journey.

"Where do I even begin?? I still cannot believe how blessed I am to have had an opportunity to be on the @official_misssa platform. I have had such a beautiful journey and the amount of doors that have opened along with the overwhelming amount of support is mind-blowing. I will forever be grateful," she shared.

She also thanked the Miss SA organization for the opportunity. "To the @official_misssa team thank you for watering my seed and helping me to become the best version of myself day after day - and I mean everyone in the team! Yes even you @msshezi.  To my amazing sisters, @anarzadeomar @itumeleng.parage @kea.nkashe @_lebogangmahlangu @luvemeyer @melanin_lelo @ndavi.nokerii @pearlntshehi @tamsyn_jack I love you all so much Let’s keep taking up space,"

She concluded "Congratulations Miss South Africa 2022 @ndavi.nokerii you are so deserving. Here is to a fruitful year of reign and a blindingly bright future."
