South Africans have handed new kid on the block and comedic rapper Big Xhosa his fate. The rapper, who gained popularity after dropping his viral single Ninyile where he dissed everyone in the South African Hip Hop sphere besides grieving rapper AKA.

A lot of the rappers he named dropped on his diss track didn’t take kindly to his words. Cassper shaded him on Twitter and Emtee told his fans to stop giving him attention because he is not mentally stable.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Xhosa speaking emcee found himself in a Twitter scuffle with the infamous independent record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment. This came after a Tweep asked the label to sign Xhosa and they didn’t take the suggestion well and informed the Tweet that their label is not a playground for kids.
Judging by the tracks we’ve heard thus far from him, Big Xhosa wasn’t going to let the opportunity to put anyone to shame and he came with guns blazing. Pulling out screenshots of the YouTube stats of one of their less popular artists (Kid Tini), he informed them to rather focus on building his brand.
Following all the drama, we ran a poll on Twitter and asked the nation if they think Big Xhosa was the next big thing in SA Hip Hop and the response was rather surprising. The votes were very close but saw 57% say ‘NO’ he isn’t the next big thing against the 43% that thought so.
This proves that clout doesn’t always materialize into a loyal following. Big Xhosa is a great example of that. Everyone has been talking about him but no one believes that he is going anywhere.

This was followed by his announcement that he is leaving rap after he landed a job as a mechanic and again to our surprise – some tweeps didn’t want him to stop making music. Some feel that his loss-leader approach to the industry is needed in an industry where egos constantly collide.
