Black Coffee through winning the GRAMMY in 2022 for the Best Dance Album affirmed that he was not just an African artist that was recognised internationally. But his win instead affirmed that he was as lauded as international producer-DJs like Diplo, David Guetta, and the like.

As such, professionally, the SBCNSLY album maker is one of the highest-paid and most in-demand live DJs in the game right. This is despite his private continually being tainted by the breakdown of his previous marriage to actress and fellow media personality Enhle Mbali

But it seems as though his personal life might be in limbo as his divorce has yet to be finalised almost two years since it was announced. It seems that professionally Black Coffee is moving from strength to strength given his recent announcement.

Black Coffee to make his Madison Square Gardens debut

Back in October 2022, Black Coffee played to a sold-out Brooklyn Mirage crowd of 8 000 audience members for his one-man show in New York City. The feat of having been a South African artist with the ability to already sell out a venue that big was already a milestone.
However, as Black Coffee asserted during his Podcast and Chill interview, he is not complacent and is always looking to best himself. An interview which had a debut via Ster Kinekor and furthered the advances of the podcast to achieve one million subscribers by April 2023.

In continuing to inspire excellence, the producer-DJ recently took to his social media to confirm his next big move. This is as he confirmed that a year after making his assertions of moving from the Brooklyn Mirage, Black Coffee has confirmed his imminent debut at Madison Square Gardens.

The venue has a capacity crowd of 20 000, but it is the history of the venue that makes this announcement so special. This is as all the greats have performed at the popular and historical venue in New York City.

While Black Coffee is set to be the first ever (South) African producer-DJ to sell out the venue should tickets sales prove to be successful for the upcoming performance on Saturday, 7 October 2023. He will not be the first South African male to sell out the venue in recent years.
This is as that honour goes to comedian Trevor Noah. Back in 2019, Trevor officially became the first African to sell out the venue as it as reported by Okay at the time writing in part that:

This past weekend, South African comedian and host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah, put on a show at New York's Madison Square Garden as part of his "Loud and Clear" tour. Noah's show was completely sold out, the first time an African has ever achieved this. He now joins the exclusive list of Hollywood A-list comedians such as Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, and Kevin Hart, who have all previously sold out their own shows at Madison Square Garden.
