Bridget announced that she is officially a Bachelor of Arts Government and Development graduate, majoring in politics and development.
Sharing her graduation photo on Instagram today, the radio presenter said it was not an easy journey.
"It took what seemed forever, at times life got in the way; ngowo, heartbreak, work, health, and every hurdle that could test my resolution to completion came my way.
"Sometimes it came all at once. There were moments we sat for exams with uncontainable excitement, at times fighting back a bucket of tears and at other times rushing to catch planes to far away destinations," she shared.
She encouraged her fans to always strive for progress, and not perfection. Bridget revealed that she graduated in December last year and she is now starting with her bridging programme towards her Masters degree.
She added, "Nothing I’ve done thus far has tested my resolve more than this journey. But I kept reminding myself of that African adage, the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time!! Somewhere along the road, I decided to go full steam ahead, and as I get comfortable in FINALLY saying."
Bridget's career dates back to the late 90s when she entered the pageants. In 2002, she reportedly competed in the Miss South Africa pageant and was crowned the 2nd runner up.
She eventually stepped into the TV and radio industry. In 2006 she bagged her first major acting gig on Generations playing the role of Zoe.
A year before, Bridget had launched her radio career at YFM. She later moved on to join other big radio stations including Kaya FM which she left in 2020. The station confirmed her departure in a statement that read, "After almost four years on the Home of the Afropolitan, Kaya FM bids farewell to Bridget Masinga effective from the end of January 2020. Masinga who started her career on YFM is currently one of the most recognizable voices on the airwaves."
The station's Chief Content Officer at the time Neil Johnson said Bridget did a remarkable job at Kaya.
“With an extensive career in radio, Bridget has contributed largely to our vision as a station with a show that has grown to truly epitomize the Afropolitan lifestyle. We wish her the best in all her future endeavours which will be nothing short of fantastic, " he said.
Last year the former Generations star celebrated her 40th birthday. Penning a lengthy post on Instagram, she said she felt Vulnerable, raw, open, and piecing it back together one dream at a time!
The actress also shared that when her mother asked her how it felt to reach 40 she replied, "my life isn’t how I had imagined it. I’m divorced, a mother of none and my career is still becoming... But apart from those hardlines, I didn’t feel 40. I kinda felt 30 still
"Tô which mom replied, “to enter this milestone feeling young is the best gift you’ve been given” 🥰 (If you know my mother, you know she lives feeling young)" Bridget shared.
