There’s been an ongoing conversation on and offline about how we’ve been seeing the same faces on our tv screens. The cries have been about how the industry needs to open up and to give chances to new and upcoming talent. Although it’s slowly happening, there are speculations that there’s an entry level barrier that has simplified it for the new faces we see.
Social Media seems to be playing a huge role on who gets casted on what show. Casting agencies have taken a backseat, producers give roles based on ones following on their personal social media platforms. How fair is it that if you’re a regular Joe with an ordinary social media following, nobody takes you seriously even if you’re talented. Producers have gone this route because they know their shows will make waves on social media.
Some of those people who get roles aren’t all that good. If It wasn’t for their following on social media, they would not have the jobs they have.
Here’s a look at a few new faces on our screens we’d love to see more of.
