Actress Jay Anstey took to Instagram shortly after the Oscar Pistorius' culpable homicide conviction was replaced with murder.
Jay posted a picture of herself with Reeva and Pearl Thusi.
She captioned the picture: “About time… #justice ❤️.”
Pearl Thusi reposted the picture soon after.
Make-up artist Gina Meyers also paid tribute to her close friend.
“My Alfi. My only wish is that you're at peace. That you're happy and that you're free. I hope you have seen what you have done for the world, for the law and South Africa. I hope you know what you have done for women… This doesn't bring back. But you've definitely made your mark,” she said on Instagram.
The Supreme Court of Appeal ruled on Thursday that Oscar be convicted of murder, and ordered him to return to the trial court to face resentencing,
Judge Eric Leach found that Judge Thokozile Masipa incorrectly applied dolus eventualis, which deals with whether a person foresees that their actions could lead to death.
The SCA found that Oscar’s evidence was so contradictory, it was impossible to know his reasons for firing four shots through the bathroom door.
Judge Leach ruled that regardless of who Oscar believed was behind the door, the Paralympian did foresee that the person would die.
