Trevor Noah just shared an image of him and Black Coffee living it up in New York. The DJ had a gig in Manhattan.

“Once upon a time two African kids had a dream… Mzansi represent,” captioned Trevor in his Instagram post.

Both the African kids are doing amazing in their respective careers. Trevor is moving on to bigger and better things as he leaves the Daily Show in a few weeks.

On December 8 Noah will no longer host the show and will be honored with a “celebratory look back at his greatest moments” which will broadcast on December 5.

“Noah has moved The Daily Show seamlessly from insightful, hilarious satire to serious, provocative conversations, meeting society’s moments of unrest and uncertainty with clarity and conviction. Whether it was tackling presidential campaigns, police violence, and systemic racism or navigating a global pandemic, he has entertained and enlightened audiences through his unique voice and perspective.

“Trevor is an incredible talent who has left an indelible mark on The Daily Show and we’re grateful for his creative partnership over the past seven years”. Wrote Comedy Central.

Announcing his exit, Trevor said: “It’s been absolutely amazing. It’s something that I never expected,” he shared.

“I found myself thinking throughout the time of everything we’ve gone through. The Trump presidency, the pandemic, just the journey, more pandemic and I realize that after the seven years, my time is up.”

“I want to say thank you to you, to you who watched this,” Noah said. “I never dreamed that I would be here. I sort of feel like ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.’ I came here for a tour of what the previous show was and then the next thing you know I was handed the keys.”

“I spent two years in my apartment, not on the road, and when I got back out there, I realized there’s another part of my life out there that I want to carry on exploring. I miss learning other languages. I miss going to other countries and putting on shows,” Noah said.

“I’ve loved hosting this show, it’s been one of my greatest challenges and one of my greatest joys,” Noah said. “I’ve loved trying to find a way to make people laugh, even when the stories are particularly s***y, even on the worst days. We’ve laughed together, we’ve cried together.”

"I never dreamed that I would be here. I sort of felt like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I came in for a tour of what the previous show was, and then the next thing I know I was handed the keys."

He will be going on a comedy tour around the world and added South African dates.

Black Coffee was a recent guest on The Diary Of The CEO Podcast Session where he spoke about his career and how he lost his hand.
