Despite the fact that Ayanda Ncwane who many believe carried the first season on her back, would not be returning, the news of the show's return received a warm welcome.

A petition has been created calling for Andile Mpisane's wife Tamia Louw to be cast in the show. Tamia caught the attention of Mzansi when pictures of her and Andile Mpisane getting married went viral in December
When Andile got hitched social media users accused his mother Shauwn Mpisane, of forcing him to get married. But the business woman came forth to clear her name in a lengthy statement on social media. She said Sithelo is the mother of her two adorable grandchildren, so she would never do anything to hurt her. She is responsible for guiding her son, but she would not make an outright choice for him, as it is his life at the end of the day.

Joining Season 2 of the franchise is musician Londie London. She said the move to join The Real Housewives of Durban was prompted by her return to Durban and her marriage to businessman Hlubi Nkosi. In addition, she had the birth of her baby boy, Uminathi, 10 months ago.

“Since I've become a wife, and a mother, I thought it would be a great idea for the public to see how I’m rebranding myself,” says the musician, actress and jewellery designer. “People know me as this sexy singer and I feel like they don't really know my personality and what I'm about outside of the entertainment industry."

Thobile MaKhumalo Mseleku has also been cast on the show and she said her decision to join The Real Housewives of Durban is inspired by her desire to bring out her individuality more. “Many people know me from Uthando Nes'thembu, and they haven't had the opportunity to know and understand Thobile as an individual,” she says. “Wherever I go, I'm always associated with the family I'm married into, which is not a bad thing and is not something I have a problem with. However, I do have a life outside of the whole family.”

In addition, Annie Ludick, Nonkanyiso Conco, Nonku Williams and Sorisha Naidoo will all be returning for S2, as well as Mabusi Seme. Season 2 of the Showmax Original The Real Housewives of Durban launches on 28 January 2022, with new episodes following every Friday.
