Lamiez is still not over the death of young creative Blackie who got brutally murdered during a squabble with another driver. The Podcast and Chill crew member also worked as an Uber driver to get extra money. His life got cut very short and DJ Lamiez wants justice for who she considered a younger brother to her.

Blackie also used to be Lamiez' personal photographer whose parents entrusted her with him. They were very close and she got very heartbroken when he passed away.

Lamiez got triggered by a video of police minister Bheki Cele damaging confiscated alcohol instead of fighting real crime. In the case of Blackie, his killers were caught on camera and their car registration number is also allegedly visible. When taken to the police, they apparently recognized the alleged criminal saying he is also wanted for other crimes.

This according to one of his colleagues on Podcast And Chill.

Lamiez got very angry when the video of Cele went viral, "Two weeks after Tshego was brutally murdered and no arrests have been made yet. Like the animal really gets to spend Christmas with his family whilst we mourn our loved one?! And yes, everything was caught on camera but nothing! Our justice system? A joke."

When he passed away, Lamiez could not process the news, "He was my little brother. Literally lived in my house on weekends coz we’d get back home from gigs in the wee hours. His parents trusted my husband and I. They loved us. They loved him. He was innocent. So full of love. So full of life. It just isn’t fair!

"I fucking hate it here! Innocent people are killed whilst ruthless barbaric animals roam the streets freely! We are in hell! This morning I woke up to the most horrific news and it breaks me even more because ngwana o wa kogae was so peaceful. So quiet. So full of love."

Lamiez said the last time she ever felt so much pain was when she lost her father in 2019. The pain really cut deep for her. When she attended his funeral, she said she felt robbed off a little brother, "This has been the toughest week I’ve had in a very long time. The last time I felt this much pain was when I lost my dad in 2019.

"Ong robile Pelo ngwana wa kogae. (You have robbed me of a little brother.) Saying my final goodbye today felt like one long nightmare. You were however given such a dignified sendoff and that makes me happy. I love you- I always will. Our team won’t be the same without you. I promise to take care of your parents for you. I however refuse to believe that this is God’s will. You were taken away from us in a senseless Murder and I will not rest until your killer is found."

Phil Mphela is always very vocal about how the industry operates. He got saddened by Blackie's death but also could not wrap his head around the fact that creatives have to work more jobs in order to earn a living. He has always opened up about how the industry needs to do better for their creatives and how they should be able to earn more money.

"Hearing the boys speak of Tshego and how he died just broke my heart. His situation and death just brought so many thoughts about how creatives in this industry have to work multiple jobs, how our country is so dangerous, etc. Weird, my first reaction wasn’t sadness but anger."
