On his podcast a while back, MacG mentioned of an influencer claiming to getting paid R60K just to bash the podcast. He asked MacG how can he top that amount so he side with him.
“I’m like to this guy, ‘I can’t match that. Keep doing what you do.' So that’s what they do, they pay Twitter influencers to speak badly about the podcast. They pay these Twitter influencers to push propaganda, to push a message,” he said.
MacG then pointed out that the podcast is at war with their competitors which could be radio. He said the radio industry wishes it could get the numbers that they have.
"The moment a platform like us exists, it's a threat to them. It wasn't a threat at the beginning because if you're a chiller who does not just watch the snippets, you would realise that's how I talk, from way back," he said. "If Podcast and Chill exists and there are 10 more other podcasts, that means radio is dead."

MacG does not take kindly to people who try to discredit his work and neither did he sugar coast his thoughts on Minnie Dlamini, who was part of those people as well.
When she announced her divorce, Minnie got told that her marriage could not keep up with the podcast. Minnie said she could not finish watching an episode of the podcast and so Sol said, "Well the podcast is not the only thing you could not finish," said Sol.
